A noteworthy observation was the strong advocacy for modern medical interventions by Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) workers within the communities. ASHA workers played a pivotal role in promoting the utilization of hospitals and medicines for snakebite treatment, actively discouraging reliance on traditional healers such as jhadphook babas and ojhas.
Community Health Officers (CHOs) emerged as key contributors to the success stories observed during the field visits. Their enthusiasm and dedication to improving healthcare outcomes were evident as they actively engaged with community members to raise awareness about snakebite prevention and treatment. CHOs played a vital role in facilitating access to healthcare services, ensuring that individuals affected by snakebites received timely and appropriate medical attention. Through their comprehensive understanding of local healthcare needs and effective communication skills, CHOs effectively bridged the gap between communities and healthcare facilities.
